Career and College Readiness Opportunities
Here at ESA we value education both in and outside of the school building. It is our hope that students take full advantage of the multiple opportunities offered so they can learn the skills needed to thrive in a competitive career pathway. Below are opportunities the Post Secondary Possibilities Office would like to share with you. We do encourage all students from 9-12th grade to participate and specifically encourage students to take financial literacy courses whenever possible. Please review.
New York STEP Program (Collaborative Pre-College Program)
FALL 2025 STEP PROGRAM October 14, 2025 – December 20, 2025
STEP is a grant funded education opportunity program (EOP) and it is FREE for students who meet the program eligibility!
STEP offers STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), and Academic workshops to middle & high school students (7th to 12th grade).
Please know that our program is NON-College Credited Courses.
Creative lab, a two-year program designed specifically for juniors who are interested in pursuing arts-related fields in college and thinking about pursuing a creative career path. Attached is the flyer again for your reference, and the priority deadline is fast approaching (10/3).
If you want to pursue a career in the arts, apply before October 3rd.
Career Essentials is a career-readiness program that enables students to develop and practice their skills in communication, public speaking, resume writing, time management, and other workplace expectations. Through a series of 10 workshops (traditionally held after-school), students gain valuable professional skills, explore potential career pathways, and network with other NYC high school students.

Sound+Science is an innovative after-school program, research lab, and community in NYC for high school students interested in exploring the unique and deep connection between music, science, and technology. Learn more about SOUND & SCIENCE
Urban Arts’ free College Access Program aids high school game design students with hands-on learning and college prep. It guides them through the application process, including major exploration, essay writing, and financial planning, aiming for debt-free college graduation and success.

Swiss Institute Teen Art Class for teens 15-18 years old. Learn more about contemporary art through artmaking, field trips and discussions with other teens interested in art. $16.50 per hour. Tuesdays, 4:30pm-6:30pm

Brooklyn Museum InterseXtions: Gender & Sexuality: In this paid internship, New York City LGBTQ+ teens and allies explore gender and sexuality in art. You’ll also work together to organize Museum programming for other queer and trans youth.$16.50 per hour. Work up to 75 hours for the year MetroCards provided . Open to all NYC high school students ages 14–19. Tuesdays 5–7 pm.
