BAM will be celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 19th at 10:30am. This year’s tribute will include remarks by very own senior, Aponi Kafele! Citizens Youth Speaker Aponi is a current BAM Education participant in the Brooklyn Interns for Arts and Culture (BIAC) program. Her voice reflects the next generation of visionary changemakers and underscores BAM’s and Citizens’ shared commitment to nurturing youth leadership and creative expression in the spirit of Dr. King.
The celebration will also feature powerful remarks from Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II; a special solo performance by Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE, A Dance Company; and more.
