First Day & FAQs for New Students!

To the 9th graders and transfer students joining us this year – welcome!

Here are answers to some of the questions you may have.

Q: When does the school day start and end?

We start at 9:25am and end either 3:25pm or 4:10pm, depending on the day. Please see our daily schedule!

Q: When is the first day of school? What time will we start and end that day? What can students expect that day?

The first day of school is Monday, September 13th. We will start at 9:25am and end at 4:10pm.

Students should enter in the building through the entrance on Ludlow Street, which is our school\’s main entrance. Students must fill out a DOE Health Screening on their phones or on paper and be prepared to get a temperature check. Upon entering, they will be greeted by school staff who will let them know which room to report to first; it will be their advisor\’s room. There, they will receive their schedules, then proceed to the classes listed on their schedules. They will attend 6 classes on the first day.

Q: What do students need to bring for the first day of school? Is there a supplies list?

At the very least, students should be prepared to engage in work on the first day of classes with writing utensils and paper. Please check out the Supply List for other things you can buy in the coming weeks!

Q: Is there a dress code?

We encourage students to make responsible choices in dressing appropriate for school. Read more about our dress code.

Q: Do I have a student email address?

Yes! Please see Setting Up Your ESA Account for instructions on how to set up your ESA gmail account.
